Feb. 5. Letter to Father describing long train ride, 2 days and nights, to their current location; slow, no water, canned rations; stopped and picked up troops and freight cars along the way. Saw beautiful countryside and visited with French people when train stopped. Arrived at French village [Chatillon] where there is a school they are to attend, all very secretive; will send money home.
