Materials include information, planning, and training related to Kansas State University's Afghanistan World Bank Grants projects that K-State Libraries' faculty member Diana Farmer participated in from 2008 to 2009. Elements included selecting and providing textbooks to Kabul University and Balkh University, travel and training components for the Kansas Agribusiness Development Team, counterinsurgency training, and other materials between 2005 and 2009.

This accession includes milling-related activities of the Department of Grain Science and Industry mainly from 1977 to 1989. Other articles, clippings, photographs, and programs cover topics like catfish research, faculty member John Shellenberger, other departmental faculty, and fraternity and university events between 1955 and 2007. Items of note include programs from Charles Deyoe for a Gamma Sigma Delta (Kansas Eta Chapter) banquet, an Alpha Gamma Rho (Alpha Zeta Kansas Chapter) banquet, and KSU events and commencements.

This collection includes artifacts and memorabilia from Lonnie Maynard, a member of the National Guard.
Series one consists of letters Maynard wrote home, letters he received from his daughter's class, maps, military-issued Bible and New Testament, a duffle bag, nine small U. S. flags intended for Iraqi citizens, and 750 photographs taken in Baghdad, Iraq.
Series two is comprised of Iraqi military items. Some items included are uniforms, patrol armband, helmet, beret, military medals, paper currency, field radio, gas mask, and most wanted posters in the Arabic language.
Series three contains U. S. military items such as helmets, hats, beret, boots, shovel, bags, belt, canteen, earplugs, U. S. Air Force patches, and U. S. airman mini pins.

These photographs include portraits, events, and other official photographs for the university, taken between April 30, 2002 and October 9, 2003.

Approximately 7,000 images on DVDs filed in four notebooks. They include photos of meetings, events, and ceremonies taken by photographers affiliated with the Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The Americans for Fairness in Lending (AFFIL) records (2000-2010) consists primarily of memos, reports, web data administration, research correspondence (emails and letters), artifacts, and publicity (print and electronic) generated by a non-profit organization (NPO) underwritten primally by large grants from the Beldon Russonello & Stewart, Ford, and the Annie Casey Foundation to advocate for changes in state and federal laws governing business lending practice.

The records, collected into seven boxes, have been arranged to reflect the organization's multifaceted public relations campaign against unfair lending practices in tandem with consumer state and national-level events, including the release of independent film documentaries, the rise of social media programs, the 2008 presidential election, the 2009 Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act and the 2010 passage of the Dodd-Frank Bill, which created the federal Consumer Protection Bureau.

The Administrative Files Series (2004-2010) consists of two boxes of correspondence (print and email), handbooks, grant applications, meeting minutes, letters of agreement, and employee notes relating to organizational growth. They are arranged in alphabetical order by subject. Some noteworthy items relating to the internal structure of the organization, including the "All About AFFIL" handbook, the search for outside funders, notes relating to conference calls with consumer movement experts, and the organization's strategic plan for the 2008 election cycle. Another key feature of this series includes AFFIL's agreements with the Ford Foundation, the public relations firm of Benesen Jansen Advertizing, the National Consumer Law Center, and Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) project agreements.

Finally, researchers of social media, such as Youtube and blogs, will also find several topics in this series of special interest, including the development of the organization's website, the tracking of web statistics, the creation of electronic contented targeting internet users, and the on-line outreach initiatives.

The Meetings Series (2005-2010) spans two boxes arranged in alphabetical order by subject and by date, containing correspondence, notes, and annotated research utilized in the planning and execution of discussions concerning different issues concerning the organization. The majority of the files in this series concern the formulation and execution of AFFIL's public interest policies.

Several folders relate to the division of administrative tasks and the formation of business policies for committee assignments, partners, contractors, consultants, the press, and the general consumer movement community, including AFFIL's general principles, field outreach strategy sessions as well as staff meetings and periodic discussions with the National Consumer Law Center. Other files contain documentation related to the organization's periodic updates to funders concerning their ongoing activities, including the Ford Foundation and the Annie Casey Foundation. Still, other files concern conversations between the organization and Magnolia Studios in trying to create a public relations campaign to promote AFFIL issues through the release of their documentary on American predatory lending business practices, Maxed Out.

Other sections of this series include files relating to conversations between employees and the Federal Reserve Board, whistle-blowers, lending victims, and members of the military. Finally, this series also collects material and advice provided in conversations with outside firms, such as Benesen Jensen, focus groups reviewing advertising campaigns, the National Council of La Raza, and web-based providers.

The Research Series encompasses two boxes of reports, newsletters, internet data, court documents, whistleblower, witness, and victim case files, government documents, and internally generated public relations campaign data.

Arranged in alphabetical order by date, these files comprise the heart of the collection, revealing the sources, data, and political focus of the Americans for Fairness in Lending. Some folders contain information generated by the United States government, including the Federal Reserve Board, National Usury Cap Legislation, S.500, 2009, and the California Reinvestment Act.

Other folders collect documents relating to different aspects of credit card and intermediary lending company operations, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, medical debt, the Navy Federal Credit Union, the case files of a whistleblower, witnesses, and victims, Ritzen v Chase court files, and a brief history of the practice of usury. Still, other folders collect lending information generated by the entertainment industry, consumer groups, and noted AFFIL associates, including the television show Boston Legal, ACORN, AARP, the Legal Aid Society, the NAACP, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and the Consumer Federation of American.

Several folders also contain information collected by AFFIL contractors, including focus group data, Kansas district voting patterns, marketing statistics, and targeted population demographics. Finally, this series also contains accumulated consumer lessons from different sources on a wide variety of topics, including Christmas holiday tips, lending and collection abuse guides, mortgage advise, student loans, and payday provisions.

The Publicity Series spans three boxes, collecting the artifacts, posters, and media related to the organization's public relations campaigns. Several folders collect documents generated for Maxed Out Screenings, including fliers, questionnaires, house party lists. Other files hold fact cards, business cards, fliers, press kits, and reports, which AFFIL distributed at consumer conferences.

Some of the artifacts collected in this series also include promotional folders, hats, and visors. The strength of this series, however, remains the collection of DVD, CD, microcassette, VHS recordings of AFFIL videos and advocate interviews on several news magazine programs, including Nightline, Fox Business, and 60 Minutes. Finally, a number of small and large posters depicting lending and mortgage horror stories featured as part of AFFIL's on-going campaigns have been retained for preservation in this series. P. Materials include research notes from Ms. Reay's 1999 book, Land Grant Ladies: Kansas State University Presidential Wives, typescript with handwritten notes of a speech given in 2009, Christmas card and letter from 2008 that Joseph Denison's great-grandson sent to Ms. Chance-Reay, a scrap of fleece that bears the Kansas State University imprint from 2011, a letter from Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor from 2011, Cherokee Area Archives first lady photograph, Land Grant Ladies Book Review, A first lady cookbook, PEO magazine and yearbook, and Domestic Science Club information and materials.

The records of the Office of Student Activities and Services (OSAS) at Kansas State University span from 1946 to 2013. The office oversees student organziations on campus, including the Student Governing Association, and contents relate to the administration of student activities and services by the office, as well as Student Governing Association (SGA) records and information about student organizations.
SGA records include agendas, minutes, election information, and legislation and statutes of the student senate. Agendas include some years between 1998-1999 and 2003-2004. Minutes cover most years between 1946-1947 and 1996-1997. Election information is from 1989-1990 to 1992-1993. Legislation and statutes span from 1967-1968 to 2008-2009. Additional types of materials include reports, fine arts council annual reports, committee documentation, and budget and allocation records from some years between 1995-1996 and 2005-2006.
A small portion of the materials relate to student government efforts to save Nichols Gym between 1975 and 1984, and include correspondence, reports, a petition, flyers, clippings, and materials related to the Nichols Hall art competition. People frequently appearing in the collection include Greg Musil, Larry Weigel, Eric Bransby, and many faculty and administrators at the university.
OSAS records include the office newsletter, "Paper Money Plus," from 1972 to 1992, as well as reports, procedures and guidelines, and budget items from 2006 to 2012. Much of the latter content focuses on fiscal procedures, financial reports, and budget allocations for student organizations.
The largest series of records are student organization registration records, which are in alphabetical order. Included are names of officer, constitutions, bylaws, and similar types of information.

The Chimes Junior Honorary Society records include scrapbooks and other records related to the activities of the group from 1979 to 2016. Subjects include society activities such as meetings, banquets, Parents Day, Family Day, service projects, and special events.

Pat J. Bosco worked as vice president for student life and dean of students at K-State, initially starting his career at the university as director of student activities. Under his former title, Bosco worked on everything related to students, including admissions, career and employment services, housing and dining, student crisis, parent and family programming, and student financial assistance. Due to this, within this collection is an eclectic assortment of various materials that fall under the grand umbrella of his job title. The majority of content is categorized under "correspondence," due to the larger scope of his work, much of this correspondence is interdisciplinary and interdepartmental. Besides the generalized correspondence, the rest of the collection is sorted into All-University Open Houses, Enrollment Management, Student Life Administration, and Workshops. The collection covers from 1986-2003. However, the bulk of correspondence lies between 1986-1989 and 2000-2003. Additionally, the Workshops included also include later years not found in the rest of the collection, ranging up to 2017. K-State Decathlon folder added to box 7.

These calendars are produced by the university or by vendors with historical materials from the university. Subjects include campus images, athletics, and historical figures in university history.

McPherson collection includes a multitude of documents pertaining the McPherson extension office as well as the 4-H program. Documents range from executive files such as financial records, meeting minutes, membership lists, and construction plans to documents such as photographs, slides, and program guides.

This accession includes media coverage, photographs, and publications of the Kansas Regents Educational Communications Center from 1988 to 2009. Media coverage includes local and national outlets, as well as press releases, and covers the activities and awards of the center. Photos include President Jon Wefald, center director Mel Chastain, and Board of Regents member Charles Hostetler at the ground breaking in 1989, as well as Senator Bob Dole and others on a tour later that year.

The Student Senate records were from documents compiled by Bill Muir while serving as the administrative representative to the student senate between 1992 and 2011. The records contain election results, minutes, agendas, articles, correspondence, budget allocations, and other documents relating to the student senate. These documents cover a variety of topics with some being more predominate than others. These topics are described in further detail.

This collection includes information relevant to the Farrell expansion of the library such as budgets, programming, memos, and research.

This collection offers insight into the operations of the now defunct Kansas Center for Rural Initiatives in the School of Leadership Studies at Kansas State University from 1991–1999. The focus of the collection are the Rural Resource Directory and the program "Sustainable Manhattan." Documents for these two programs include: corrections, budgets, information sheets, correspondence, essays, newspaper clippings, and newsletters.

The Kansas State University Conference on Applied Statistics in Agriculture provided a forum for discussion of statistical issues motivated by agricultural problems. The conference brought together statisticians from academia, industry and government to discuss ideas and advancements in the application of statistics to solving agricultural research problems. The records pertain to the Kansas State University Conference on Applied Statistics in Agriculture. These records include conference proceedings, programs, correspondence, session presentations, call for papers, registration, and financial information. The conference began in 1989 and ran through 2018, it is unlikely the conference will resume.

These records from the Vice President for Research, Ron Trewyn, document his interactions from 1990 to 2010 with the Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation, the Mid-America Commercialization Corporation, and Kansas Incorporated. These entities worked with the university's research foundation to bring the university's intellectual property to the marketplace.
The Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation (KTEC) records are hosued in Boxes 1 and 2, date from 1991 to 2010, and include board meeting agendas and minutes, inter-department correspondence, international correspondence, and financial, technical, and staff reports.
The Mid-American Commercialization Corporation (MACC) records are housed in Boxes 3 and 4, date from 1992 to 2003, and include board meeting agendas and minutes, planning documentation, and training information.
The Kansas Incorporated records are housed in Box 5, date from 1990 to 1997, and include board meeting agendas and minutes, planning documentation, and reports.

This collection consists of five postcards and twenty-two letters, some including additional documentation, sent in response to Elizabeth B. Goldsmith, Ph.D., author inquiry in the New York Times Book Review section on August 19, 1990 seeking books on the history of home economics. All correspondence is dated 1990-1991.

The personal records relate to the personal life of Don Rathbone and his family. The memorabilia and physical media relate to both Rathbone’s personal and professional life. The materials include books (including In My Words: The Oral History Project as told by Perdue History, alumni directory books, fact books, and other KSU and engineering-related publications), booklets, photos, photo albums, certificates, maps, blueprints, plaques, awards, high school and college yearbooks, calendars, planners, appointment books, log books, address books, business card files, a Rolodex with contact information, signed volleyballs, a deck of playing cards, a Transcriber Company diamond needle, a Pickering Stereo Fluxvalve Cartridge for automatic turntables, engineering-related tools (a Hemmi Slide Rule with Don E. Rathbone’s name engraved on it inside a leather case, a Type Ceramic Capacitor Rule, a Pocket Metric Converter, and a Motor Data Calculator), VHS tapes, DVDs, floppy discs, cassette tapes, magnetic audio tapes, polaroid slides, a flash drive, and an unlabeled film reel.

This collection is made up of one box that includes correspondence, memberships, organization records, and awards.

These materials document a 1987 workshop at Kansas State University, "Principles and Techniques of Quality French Bread" by French baking professor Raymond Calvel, and 1995 and 1997 programs for meetings of the Amicale des Anciens Eleves et des Anis du Professeur Calvel, an association of former students and friends of Calvel.

Significant contributions by Katy Greene and Dr. Myra Gordon. Documents include, constitutions, financial records, meeting minutes, collaborations with Alianza (organization) and correspondence alongside letters and request to administrative authorities.

Shawnee County Extension Office records contains various photos from general meetings and actives, alongside several handbooks, and meeting minutes, key dates include 1960, 1988, 1992, and 2009.

The majority of this collection is a compilation of Motor Voters’ correspondence to and from state and federal agencies, individual consumers, auto industry magnates, and other consumer and safety groups. Also included is an audiovisual series which contains news and press conferences as well as general TV coverage of Motor Voters’ accomplishments and goals.

Women in Communications, inc., an honorary professional fraternity dedicated to empowering women in the communications professions, was founded in 1909 as Theta Sigma Phi at the University of Washington in Seattle. A local student chapter at Kansas State Agricultural College was petitioned by the Women's Press Club and accepted on June 8, 1916. It's original membership number 6 actives and 6 pledges. Theta Sigma Phi was created with dedication to the following objectives: To unite women engaging in or planning to engage in journalism; To confer honor upon women who distinguish themselves in journalism or letter; To achieve definite standards in journalism and letters; To improve working conditions for women in these fields; To inspire members to greater individual effort Some of the early Theta Sigs include: Velma Carson, Clementine Paddleford, Elizabeth Dickens Shafer, Josephine Hemphill, Velma Lockridge McKee, Alice C. Nichols, Sue Carmody Jones, and Eula Mae Currie Kelly. In 1972, the national organization officially changed it's name from Theta Sigma Phi to Women in Communications, inc. (WICI). At the same time, it reformulated the original objectives to be more in tune with modern times. WICI's mission is Leading Change, the membership coming together to make a difference in the world and the communications profession. The objectives of the organization are: To unite members for the purpose of promoting the advancement of women in all fields of communications; To work for the First Amendment rights and responsibilities of communicators; To recognize distinguished professional achievements; To promote high professional standards throughout the communications industry.

These items include the following types of materials from the Beta Theta Pi, Gamma Epsilon chapter, fraternity at Kansas State University: photo of house mother and date (Amy DeLauro and Ray Crubel) in 1986, group photos of pledges in 1986 and 1988, composite photos from 1986 to 1988, and chapter publication, The Sphinx, from 1985 to 1988.

This collection of feminist publications includes newspapers, newsletters, and magazines from state and national organizations from 1970 to 1984. The materials were mailed to the K-State Women's Resource Center and sociology faculty member Cornelia Flora.
The Feminist Publications include fifty-four newspapers published between the years of 1970-1985 focusing on the issues of importance to activists in the later years of second-wave feminism. They confront hegemonic ideology and societal issues with an intersectional feminist lens. The overall theme of the publications is equality for women and ending the oppressions attached to the social constructions of gender, race, class, and sexuality. The publications have news about political activism, reviews of feminist works, poetry, artwork, and a letter written by Angela Davis to Ericka Huggins. Articles like “Jail is no solution, jobs and housing will end Prostitution”, “Slavery in America”, “Kiss and Tell Campaign”, “Health and Medical Care in North Vietnam”, “20,000 families going hungry in Seattle”, and “no more kids in chemical straight-jackets” can be found in this collection. The publications promote the ERA (Equal Rights Amendment), Roe vs. Wade and reproductive justice, economic freedom, civil rights, gay and lesbian liberation, healthcare, welfare, free 24 hours child-care, and medical self-help material for women. These publications are fighting against systematic oppression, sexual assault, injustices of welfare and healthcare, anti-reproductive justice movements, domestic abuse, racism, classism, ableism, sexism, capitalism, heteronormativity, colonialism, militarism, and fascism.
In addition to the Feminist Publications includes three newspapers: the furies: lesbian/feminist monthly, off our backs, and N.O.W Times published between the years of 1972-1985 focusing on the issues of importance to activists in the later years of second-wave feminism. These publications confront hegemonic ideology and societal issues with an intersectional feminist lens. The furies dissect heteronormativity and male supremacy. N.O.W Times fights against patriarchal values. Off our backs examines gender, class, race, and international issues.
We have one copy of the furies: lesbian/feminist monthly, vol. 1 Jan. 1972. The furies publication lasted 2 years focusing on lesbian issues and male supremacy. The furies publication we have includes works like "Roxane Dunbar: how a female heterosexual serves the interest of male supremacy", "Lesbians in Revolt", "Male Supremacy Quakes and Quivers", "Queen Christina Lesbian Ruler of Sweden", and "Nixon's Solution".
Off our backs (OOB) is a nonprofit organization that published news journals from 1970-2008 by, for, and about women. Our collection of OOB highlights various women's issues including civil rights, health, reproductive justice, imprisonment, labor, and violence during 1981-1985. OOB also provides readers international feminist news, an example, March 1982's issue discusses Encuentra Feminista (1st Latin American Feminist Conference), March Against Women Abuse in the Virgin Islands, Lavendar Komono: Lesbian Feminism in Japan, and the imprisonment of feminist Lu Hsiu Lien in Taiwan and a review of her work New Feminism. OOB includes reviews of feminist writings like articles by Audre Lorde and publishes poetry and other written works.
N.O.W Times the National Organization of Women's Publications is concentrated on feminist activism and informing women of their rights. N.O.W. Times promotes political change and informs about the political news that affects women in the U.S. There are articles about Roe vs. Wade, pro-choice rallies, the Parental and Disability Leave Act in Congress, supporting the Marvel boycotts, and protesting Reagan's administration. N.O.W Times emphasizes the ongoing struggle to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and follows the women in politics during the late 70's-mid '80s.

The Nancy Hawkins collection consist of reports, letters, and statements authored by other people. One report was presented to the United Nations General Assembly in 1984 and contains draft guidelines for consumer protection, which was actually passed by the UN in the draft guidelines. One letter from Ambassador Alan L. Keyer, published in the New York Times on October 17, 1984, criticized consumer advocate Esther Peterson's criticism of the Reagan Administration. A letter from IOCU Director Lars Broch to Mr. Fareer, Minister of Pakistan offered technical comments on the draft guidelines and is accompanied by 3 pages of a letter to the United Kingdom government. Another letter from Broch to Esther Peterson addressed the guidelines. There is a partial statement about consumer issues from Robert Steeves, Deputy Director of the U.S. Office of Consumer Affairs, addressing the United States House of Representatives Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Organization of the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Several pages are missing from this statement including the first page. Notes made by Nancy Hawkins on the statement are illegible. There is a five-page statement by Ambassador Alan L. Keyes before the same subcommittee the same year, 1984, addressing consumer protection in general and the United Nation's role in formulating consumer guidelines.

This binder includes images used in student publications like the Collegian and the Royal Purple between 1983 and 2001, with the majority of the slides covering 1992 through 1998. Subjects include news of the time, college sports, and student life.

This collection primarily includes correspondence, newsletters, mailers, clippings, and paperwork related to the Consumer Federation of America (CFA), National Advertising Review Board (NARB), and Maryland Citizens Consumer Council (MCCC) between 1978 and 1990. Also included are copies of the Maryland Register.

The Leonard E. Bloomquist Collection is composed of his personal writings, research, publications, correspondence, and administrative materials. In 1997 he completed the 'Exemplary Faculty study,' which contains transcriptions from interviews with 20 faculty members from the College of Arts and sciences. Some of the other projects in this collection pertain to Dr. Bloomquist's work with rural sociology and his time as the head of the department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work. Approximate years covered in this collection are from 1982-2004.

The materials within this collection include brochures, leaflets, guidebooks and handbooks, as well as a summary of consumer interest activities from 1981-1989.

This collection includes an undated information sheet describing the K-Laires in a question and answer format. It includes information about purpose, activities, cost, membership requirements, benefits and meeting times. A constitution and bylaws from 1978 provide details about name, purpose, membership, officers, meetings, dues, amendments, and rules of order. There is no explanation of what the name K-Laires means. Advisor responsibilities are listed on a separate document. An undated organization information sheet for the Royal Purple yearbook and a 1992 registration form for the University Activities Board provide additional information including a number of members, membership composition, activities, and contact information for officers.
Agendas for 1991-1992 and 1992-93 list activities for each academic year. There are two meeting agendas and a Spring Festival Committee sign-up sheet from 1992. Minutes from the spring business meeting in 1983, 1984, and 1985 name newly elected officers and describe plans and assignments. Extensive minutes from meetings held during the 1986-1987 academic year provide the most insight into the K-Laires. The minutes' record member recruitment, event planning, announcements, voting outcomes, budget reports, activity calendars, elections, and faculty advisor selection. Brief notes from two fall 1987 meetings describe events. Minutes from the 1988-1989 academic year record business meeting topics and describe dances giving an indication of how they were viewed by participants. From 1992, there is an agenda for the 30 August meeting, and minutes; dues, membership, activities, and a treasury report were covered. Minutes from the 27 September meeting state there are only two to four student members and that the club will shut down for the year and try again in 1993-94.
Correspondence consists of four letters. From 1986 there is a letter to officers and a letter requesting a public service announcement about the K-Laires be made. From 1992, there is a letter to University Activity Board registered organizations and a letter from a caller requesting calendar dates. Financial documents consist of a checkbook register covering 1985-1991 and an undated checkbook register, receipts from 1991-1992, student union room reservation rental information, a bank statement showing a balance of $11.66 in July 1993, and detailed financial ledgers from 1982-1990. Membership information consists of contact information lists from 1991-1993, dance attendance sheets from 1991-1992, undated name badges, and guest book pages from 1982-1986 and 1991-1992. A computerized printout of names and addresses is identified as an alumni list current as of 14 September 1986.
Numerous colorful flyers advertise square dance lessons, dances on campus sponsored by the K-Laires, square dances held in Manhattan, and square dances sponsored by various clubs throughout Kansas. The flyers have dates and locations and most provide the name of the callers and the cuers. The K-Laires were members of the North Central District of the Kansas Square Dance Association (KSDA); there is a 1991 bylaws book for the District and an undated blank dance booklet. A 1992 copy of Travel On -- Square Dancing in Kansas, a quarterly KSDA publication, lists a K-Laires’ dance. A collection of “dangles” or badges collected from various dances are undated. There are two large purple and white felt banners with the name of the club and figures of a square dancing couple.

The Charlotte Churaman research collection is a compilation of research materials collected regarding consumer research, consumer legislative protection, and consumer education. The dates covered by the records collected are approximately 1962–1992.

The Warren N. White Jr. papers were generated during Dr. White’s career at K-State. The collection concerns Dr. White’s models, robots, and Kansas Electric Utilities (KEURP) research, as well as materials for the courses he taught. The work largely focuses on electrical engineering and robotics, although it contains some correspondence as well. Notably, there are records of his Galloping Line research from the 1980’s, his work on the General Electric P-50 Robo, and his collaborative work involving ball & beam and pendulum research. Approximate years covered by the records are 1977-2010.

This collection details the construction and 1981 collapse of the walkways in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kansas City through the records of Richard (Dick) McDonald, an investigator of the accident. Included are preliminary designs and calculations, as well as finalized designs and plans for the hotel walkways. A large portion of the collection gives insight into the investigation by the National Bureau of Standards, including photographs, slides, and notes. Another feature of this collection is McDonald's teaching materials at Kansas State University in the subjects of architecture, applied mechanics, and design from 1969 to 1990. This collection includes detailed descriptions of his classes through his portfolios, as well as one folder of three sketches.

The Louis H. Douglas papers document the career of Douglas and the lecture series that was named after him at Kansas State University. Included are photographs of Douglas and speakers at the lecture series, as well as additional documentation regarding his time as a political science professor at Kansas State University from 1949–1977 and the Lou Douglas Lecture Series that began in 1980.

Kathleen Ward was a Communication Specialist for Research and Extension at Kansas State University. She has been a longtime writer for Kansas State University. Ward's collection consists of copies of articles and local newspapers clippings dated from the late 1970s to 2010. Among other things, the collection includes multiple local publications on wild animal trapping.

These materials were citations and supporting material that Duane Acker used while writing a book about his time as the president of Kansas State University, titled Two at a Time. Most of the materials are photocopies of correspondence, speeches, reports, notes, and clippings.

The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work records were generated and collected by the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Kansas State University and pertains to the files of former faculty member Dr. Martin Ottenheimer. The collection contains faculty meeting minutes, state directories, post-graduation statistic reports, and faculty workshop agendas. Significant information includes outlines for graduate programs, anticipated student learning outcomes, and plans for the department to adopt guidelines from the Kansas Board of Regents. Approximate years covered in the records are 1974-2004.

The Dorothy Willner Papers (1974-1986) consists primarily of correspondence, reports, and conference material pertaining to Willner's fostering of a relationship between the International Organization of Consumer Unions (IOCU) and the United Nations. The papers have been arranged to reflect Willner's interaction between these two organizations and the issues their members faced during this transitional period in consumer advocacy.

The collection is organized into five series: 1) IOCU Files; 2) Publications; 3) United Nations Files; 4) Subject Files; 5) Oversized Material.

The IOCU Files Series consists of three boxes of correspondence, reports, and event material relating to the issues Dorothy Willner regularly managed as a representative of the IOCU. While the collector's name appears on few of these documents, the accumulated contents of letters addressed to her and Florence Mason as well as Willner's hand-written notes are the centerpiece of the collection, illustrating the service Willner and IOCU provided period grass roots organizations throughout the world with access to research, media attention, regional coordination with other consumer group, and representation on the international level.

Some files include correspondence between leading consumer advocates Colston Warne and Esther Peterson. Other files include reports on the March 1979 World Health Organization (WHO) conference on the haphazard technical cooperation among developing countries in the field of health and the related 1981 WHO resolution on the quality and content of mass produced infant formula. Other files contain Willner's notes on correspondence with members, meetings with international representatives, and conference talks. The series also contains newspaper clippings and research, which likely served as briefing material for Willner.

The Publications Series spans two boxes and collects pamphlets, newsletters, digests, reports, and booklets. These imprints were produced by a wide of assortment of international groups in several languages and by the United Nations on business practices and consumer issues. Some of the periodicals collected by Willner include Que Choisir?, Utusan Konsumer, Warta Konsumen and Orientacion de Consumidores y Usuarios. The series also contains a small assortment of publications produced by the United States Consumer Affairs Office, the Danish Government Home Economics Council, and the Australian Federation of Consumer Organization, Inc. Other files in this series also contain material related to the growth of international businesses and produced by different United Nations commissions, councils, and agencies, including the Center on Transnational Corporations, the Conference on Trade and Development, and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

The United Nations Series consists of five boxes of memoranda, correspondence, press releases, critiques, conference material, and drafts of committee reports created by the international organization. While some files relate to the "Decade for Women" events, the majority of this series is centered on the United Nation's response to IOCUs consumer protection lobbying efforts. One section of the series collects the administrative work of several notable 1970s conferences, which covered issues relating to the creation of model laws as guards against restrictive business practice and the application of technology on international businesses and their consumers. Other files demonstrate the increased visibility of consumer issues in the General Assembly and the ECOSOC. Still others feature different drafts of United Nations reports, discussing the formation of both legal protection for consumers and an international business code of conduct for transnational corporations. Finally, this series also features guidelines for non-government organizations (NGOs) within the United Nations, including the IOCU.

The Subject Files Series spans two boxes and consists of newspaper clippings, memos, reports from other consumer organizations and Willner's own background research on a wide assortment of topics relevant to both IOCU members and United Nations administration. Several of the files are relevant to the growth of consumer unions in Asia. Others relate to fair trade issues, the creation of standards for foods and drugs, and the formation of a "Consumer Interpol" to act as a watchdog against abusive international business practices, including the use of Third World nations as "dumping grounds" for allegedly defective or untested medical devices, drugs, pesticides "unpassable by western standards." Another contains material from the IOCU's October 19, 1979, dinner for American Consumer leader and IOCU motivator Colston Warne. Finally, a few files also contain research relating to the changing shape of United States unions and consumer laws in the 1980s, including the Consumer Protection Act and the United Auto Workers.

The Oversized Material Series collects in one box large documents and bound matter. The majority of the series includes material relating to the creation and development of consumer education in the Philippines. Researchers may find of particular interest Dorothy Willner's Asean Consumer Protection seminar discussing the measures under development at the United Nations to curb abusive business practices of transnational corporations.

This collection cointains information about the Kansans for ERA organziation, their organizational issues, and organizational documents.

The United States Commission on Military History records (1973-2002) contain materials pertinent to the operation of the USCMH and the International Commission on Military History. The ICMH is an organization of national organizations that comprises the USCMH and the national commissions of thirty or more countries at any given time. The ICMH convenes annually at a colloquium hosted by a different foreign commission. The bulk of material centers on the annual USCMH meetings and ICMH colloquiums. Reports, agendas, and minutes of USCMH meetings document the operation of the commission. Extensive correspondence and various files associated with the three ICMH colloquiums hosted by the USCMH in 1975, 1982 and 2002 contain detailed information about the accommodations, registration, itineraries, papers and publications necessary for each conference. The papers are divided into ten series: 1) By-Laws, 1974-1997; 2) Membership, 1973-1999; 3) Elections, 1973-1999; 4) Correspondence, 1973-2000; 5) United States Commission on Military History Meetings, 1973-2000; 6) International Commission on Military History Meetings, 1965-2002; 7) Financial, 1973-2000; 8) Printed Material, 1974-1999; 9) Other Historical Associations, 1974-2001; and 10) Audiovisual, 1972 and 1992. The By-Laws series contains the original articles of incorporation of USCMH in 1974 and consequent revisions of the organization's by-laws from 1975-1997. Also included are the by-laws and statutes of the International Commission on Military History. Membership information and data is assembled in the second series. Annual dues payments and registration data for USCHM is included as well as membership lists from both the USCMH and ICMH. All membership information is arranged chronologically from 1973-1999. The election series encompasses all aspects of USCMH elections. Every two years USCMH holds elections for president, vice-president, trustees and members of various committees. Materials within the third series include correspondence relevant to the nomination of officers, biographies of nominated persons, official ballots, and results of the elections. The fourth series contains general correspondence. The material is arranged chronologically and is separated between the USCMH and the ICMH. The material was left together as it was previously arranged and was not divided into categorical sub-series, except when already sorted by the donor organization. The majority of the contents are correspondence written to or by commission officers. Each year the USCMH holds a general membership meeting and a board of trustees meeting. Agendas and minutes of annual USCMH meetings as well as correspondence relevant to the planning and execution of meetings are included in the fifth series. Most notable among these records is the 1998 Report of the Long Range Planning Committee. The ICMH Meetings series contains information on the annual ICMH colloquiums. The colloquiums hosted by the USCMH and held in the United States in 1975, 1982 and 2002 make up the majority of the substance of the sixth series. Financial materials make up the seventh series. The USCMH functions as a not-for-profit organization and operated out of several different accounts. Annual financial reports and bills and receipts are filed chronologically from 1976-1999. Printed materials in the eighth series include USCMH bulletins and newspapers. Circulated to members monthly, the newsletters contain announcements, reports, and remarks from the current president and served as a means of communication to the general membership. Certain published material was removed from the collection and was catalogued for the main library. This included International Review of Military History, 1975-1992; International Bibliography of Military History, 1978-1999; and Proceedings from the ICMH Colloquiums, 1975-2002. The USCMH is affiliated with the American Historical Society and is listed in the AHA Directory of Affiliated Societies. The ninth series also includes information about a variety of other historical associations including newsletters, meetings, and conferences. The audiovisual materials make up the tenth series which contains audio recordings of the 1972 USCMH meeting and the April 15 and November 21, 1992 USCMH Board of Trustees meetings. Written records of the 1992 meetings are located in the USCMH Meetings series, however, no other record of the 1972 meeting exists in this collection.

This collection includes K-State's Sports Information photography collection and team documents. The materials include documents and photos from a variety of sports, including baseball, basketball, field hockey, football, golf, gymnastics, swimming, tennis, track, rowing, and wrestling. The photography collection includes coach and player portraits, along with competition and sideline photos. The document collection includes scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, team files, scorebooks, and game programs. The collection is sorted approximately by item type and grouped into series by sport. The photography collection is stored in flip-top boxes, while the majority of the documents are in cubic foot boxes. The approximate dates of the materials are 1931-2000.

The Louis S. Meyer papers reflect the varied consumer interests and activities Louis S. Meyer participated in from 1969-1986. His involvement in the consumer movement began as a successful businessman. With a degree in political science, he pursued a political life as a state campaign coordinator and became an expert in government and community interrelationships. With this latter expertise, Meyer became the consumer advisor and moderator for conferences held on the deregulation of the telecommunications industry.

The first series of the collection demonstrates Meyer's concern with various consumer and legislative issues, such as medical malpractice reports, health and nutrition pamphlets, transcribed lectures on children's television advertising, pamphlets on the national use of the metric system, and the Universal Product Code for pricing. His interest in rural and utility legislation led to a close contact with Senator Lee Metcalf of Montana who pursued such legislative acts as the Family Farm Development Act, the National Electrical Energy Conservation Act, and the Consumer Representation Plan of 1975-1976. This close contact is seen by the correspondence in the series with the Senator and the numerous Congressional Records found in the collection. In 1975, Meyer became an active member of COCO and later held numerous administrative positions with the organization.

The second series contain organizational files from COCO which includes annual and financial reports, memberships lists, and minutes from the Steering Committee from 1976-1985. In this series, there is extensive conference material the donor collected and filed in notebooks. The conference material has been removed from the notebooks and filed in folders and boxes according to its original order.

The third series contains the bulk of the collection and documents the important role COCO and Meyer played in advising AT&T on consumer/community relations during the deregulation of 1979-1986. This series is divided into five sub-series; 1) conferences on deregulation, 2) Joint Consumer Advisory Panel Meetings, 3) reports and transcribed lectures concerning telecommunications, 4) information from other telecommunications companies, 5) judicial information and government documents. Community impact conferences were held on deregulation throughout the United States in 1982-1983. Meyer monitored the conferences and compiled material from each of these conferences. This material has been kept intact and is largely made up of pamphlets, agendas and reports. COCO and AT&T organized a Joint Consumer Advisory Panel in 1975 which met on a regular basis until 1985. All correspondence, minutes, and agendas have been placed in chronological order and maintained as Meyer had compiled it. The collection contains numerous reports and transcribed lectures on telecommunication legislation and deregulation from 1979-1986. The processor placed these within the third sub-series due to related content. COCO advised other telecommunication companies.

The fourth sub-series documents the advisory meetings between companies including ATTIX, NACAA, and API, Southern New England Telephone, and PCC from 1980-1984. The agendas and minutes of these meetings are within this sub-series. The final sub-series contains various judicial and government documents. The judicial information describes court cases of Western Electric (1982) and the New England Telephone and Telegraph (1983). There are Federal Communication Commission hearings concerning different telecommunication topics such as customer equipment and services, AT&T regulation of domestic and interstate services, and the MTS and WATS structure inquiry. This sub-series also contains legislative acts and bills including the Communications Act of 1978, Telecommunications/ Deregulations Act of 1981 and 1982 with their respective amendments, the Disabled Act of 1982, and various unnamed bills H.R. 13015, H.R. 4102 and 4103, H.R. 5421, and H.R. 6121.

The fourth series is audio-visual material and contains recordings of audio and video cassettes. The audio cassettes are 60- and 90- minute tapes of various speakers at the Food and Education Conference (1974), Erie Consumer Credit (1976), COCO Internship Conference (1976), Utility and Energy Conference (1976), the Legislative and Regulatory Process Workshops (1976), and the Consumer Protection Conference (1977). There are also recorded lectures by Meyer on subjects such as the future of rural America, the food industry, and consumer protection. The video cassettes' are primarily concerned with the telecommunications industry. Some deal with public relations, others are recorded interviews, still, others are speakers at a utility conference. A 30 minute 16mm film, produced by COCO, called "Keeping Up With Technology" is also found in this series.

Collection primarily contains amateur radio club QSLs, administrative/program materials, and station logs. Meeting minutes, the club constitution, and licensing material is included. Also in the collection are brochures, guides, and other publicity for the club itself.

The John C. Reese papers include a 2013 curriculum vitae, a 2006 grant application, and reprinted publications from 1971 to 2015 of Kansas State University entomology professor John C. Reese. An expert in plant host resistance, Reese's papers document his career and associated research.
