There are checkbooks, receipts, pay stubs, bank information, and other material related to the AIA and their financial process dated for the 1950’s.
Box 3, A83412059150- Contains six (6) file folders labeled “Pise de Terre.” The first one contains Correspondence to Paul Weigel, as well as some architectural sketches and newspaper clippings. The second and third contain architectural sketches on tracing paper. The fourth has booklets called: The Use of Earth as a Building Materials, Research in Farm Structures, Poultry Houses and Equipment for Kansas, Northwestern Apple Packing Houses, U.S. Department of Agriculture- Farmers Bulletin No. 1500- Rammed Earth Walls for Buildings, as well as a paper called “Pise de Terre Houses” and one over “Houses Built of Rammed Earth.” The fourth folder also has correspondence to Professor Paul Weigel. The fifth folder has booklets called: How to Build Your Own Home of Earth, Rammed Earth Walls for Buildings, Rat Proofing Buildings and Premises, Farm Dairy Houses, Principles of Dairy- Barn Ventilation, Home Storage of Vegetables, Potato Storage and Storage Houses. Box 4, A83412052174- Contains 3 binders. The first one is a Meeting Minute book for the Student Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) dated 1958-1959 and 1968-1969. There are also two scrapbooks on the AIA dated from 1958-1965 and the second one is 1963-1969. The scrapbooks contain photos of members of the club, projects done by them, newspaper clippings, blueprints, and art by the group.

These calendars are produced by the university or by vendors with historical materials from the university. Subjects include campus images, athletics, and historical figures in university history.

The Leonard E. Bloomquist Collection is composed of his personal writings, research, publications, correspondence, and administrative materials. In 1997 he completed the 'Exemplary Faculty study,' which contains transcriptions from interviews with 20 faculty members from the College of Arts and sciences. Some of the other projects in this collection pertain to Dr. Bloomquist's work with rural sociology and his time as the head of the department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work. Approximate years covered in this collection are from 1982-2004.

This collection includes artifacts from George and Alice Fiedler such as framed poetry, decorative plates, plaques, mugs, framed photographs, and the diplomas of George Fiedler. There is also documentation relating to "Pony Express" and some printed material such as a program and collection of poetry.

The Vice President for Institutional Advancement records contain subject files, committee records, NCAA Self Study reports, Golf Foundation records, correspondence, and anual reports. The records are organized by date or topic. Many of the subject files contain work completed by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement on the Konza Prarie, sporting events, and programs supported by the office.

Kathleen Ward was a Communication Specialist for Research and Extension at Kansas State University. She has been a longtime writer for Kansas State University. Ward's collection consists of copies of articles and local newspapers clippings dated from the late 1970s to 2010. Among other things, the collection includes multiple local publications on wild animal trapping.

Photographs depict meat lab and meat sciences students working in the lab, photographs of patented equipment by the department still in use today, and various meat cooking techniques, judging techniques, guidance about food safety, and images of staff and faculty.
Many photos are labeled and identified.

Handwritten transcribed version of diary and typescript of Civil War diary belonging largely to T.T. Shorthill with a few scattered entries indicated by previous owner of material to be R.S. Shorthilll's, brother to T.T. Shorthill. T.T. Shorthill served three years with the 38th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company E, as a cook. Entries written while Shorthill served in Tennessee and Kentucky and described food and meals for troops as well as weather conditions, troop movements and officers.

Scrapbook of photos and writing related to the Wheat Queen Contest. The typed preface explains that the contest was held as part of the Wheat Festival in Hutchinson, KS. The photos are often of the contestants, their families, and homes, usually on farms in and around the area. Ephemera featured in this bound volume includes newspaper clippings and programs from academic and extracurricular activities, such as theatrical plays and basketball. Most writing is typed on separate pages from the ones containing photos, which often feature handwritten details.

Box 1- A83412059312 - Four Binders. Two of which are detailing “Strategic Planning” or ways to grow/ maintain the university. One is from 1988, and the other goes from 1989 to 1991. Blue binder contains a “Report of the Title IX Task Force” for 1976. Last binder (green) goes over K-States push for affirmative action. It contains mailing lists for new students, and lists for “Recruitment sources for women/ minorities.” It also has some clipping of ad campaigns. Approx. dates 1976-1988.

Box 2- A83412142903- Four binders as well as file folders. Three binders contain title IX Survey forms, including two copies of the same one for the schools of Agriculture, Architecture, Design, and Business. Last Binder contains the “Report of the Title IX Task Force.” This box contains several folders with Title IX Tax surveys from 1975- 1976 separated by department. There are papers with lists of students and what their answers for the tax survey. Also, there are several fliers advertising programs, and they are with the department that they correspond with. One other folder contains files from the Alliance for Equality in Sports from 1978, and the last one has files pertaining to the “Task force on Women’s Programming and Services.”

Box 3- A83412049684-File Folders. Data sets from Program reviews from 1992, including administration, dean reports, and an overall summary of the programs. This box contains the folders for: The college of Architecture and Design, Arts and Sciences, Education, Business Administration, and the college of Technology. They also include Provost’s Committee Report from 1982, and records from General Administration. There is another section of files for the Minority Affirmative Action Committee records from 1978-1982.

Additionally, the records contain photographic records that document the history of the K-State Salina campus including Kansas Technical Institute, and the Shilling Institute. The records are organized by series. There are also a number of items that are non-paper records, such as, tee-shirts, flags, and banners.

This collection holds the materials regarding the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse from the late 1980s through 2016, with the majority of the information regarding the years 1989-1994.

The first binder contains the Association of Operative Millers catalogues from 1920 to1959, and the second one has the catalogues from 1959 to 1968. The folder contains some pages from the first binder that are too old/ fragile to be in there, dated 1920-1923. The third and final binder is labeled “Association of Operative Miller’s Bulletin 1989,” and the binder contains the bulletin/ catalogues for “A.O.M’s 93rd Annual Conference & Trade Show.” Dated 1920- 1989.

Records include proposals to establish a baccalaureate program in nursing at Kansas State University, potential curriculum, and workshop meeting minutes. Progress reports also follow the creation of the baccalaureate program from 1970 to 1972.

The materials within this collection relate mostly with Consumer Financial Archives and Office of Financial Accounts. Within those two categories, the materials include: historical documents, meeting minutes, assembly information, and information on the board of directors, correspondence, committee information and financial records. This information ranges from 1963 to 1983.

These materials document a 1987 workshop at Kansas State University, "Principles and Techniques of Quality French Bread" by French baking professor Raymond Calvel, and 1995 and 1997 programs for meetings of the Amicale des Anciens Eleves et des Anis du Professeur Calvel, an association of former students and friends of Calvel.

The poster promotes a Paul Gregory-Charles Laughton Production of Marge and Gower Champion, Harry Belafonte, and the Voices of Walter Schumann in the play "3 for Tonight." It was scheduled for the Kansas State College auditorium on Wednesday, 17 November 1954.

The general purpose of the Faculty Senate within Kansas State University is to facilitate faculty participation in the establishment of university policies and in the formulation of procedures for their interpretation. For the policies to remain useful they are delegated to sub-committees established by the Faculty Senate, responsible for a certain set of procedures and policies and filtering it from the Senate to the faculty. The Faculty Senate Records collection contains minutes and agendas from most of these committees. Along with minutes and agendas, this collection contains course and curriculum changes from proposed or already existing courses. Significant information includes organizational fundraising, piano pedagogy and music history courses, ceremony instructions, recital programs, and personal notes. The Class of 1911 used the Royal Purple March as a fundraiser for their senior arch at Kansas State Agricultural College. George August Westphalinger, a retired chief musician for the United States Army who led the K-State College Band in 1909-1910 and 1910-1911, wrote the piece in 1911. More details are available in issues of The Kansas Industrialist on May 13 and June 17, 1911.

Arts and Sciences Dean's Office Records contain documents noting course and curriculum changes, budgets for the 1988-1989 academic year, and tenure evaluations for professors within the departments. Correspondence from President Jon Wefald, and Vice-President Bob Krause, to the Arts and Sciences department are also included, which discuss enrollment numbers for the 1987-1988 school year.

Wheatley’s faculty papers include Kansas State University English course descriptions, correspondence with English instructors, and English department meeting minutes. Other documents included are newsletters, proposals, and meeting agendas for the Faculty Women’s Caucus from 1992 to 1999. These documents discuss salary increases and workplace improvements for instructors. The papers also have nomination letters for the Bonnie Nelson Leadership Award from 1995 to 1999.

The Americans for Fairness in Lending (AFFIL) records (2000-2010) consists primarily of memos, reports, web data administration, research correspondence (emails and letters), artifacts, and publicity (print and electronic) generated by a non-profit organization (NPO) underwritten primally by large grants from the Beldon Russonello & Stewart, Ford, and the Annie Casey Foundation to advocate for changes in state and federal laws governing business lending practice.

The records, collected into seven boxes, have been arranged to reflect the organization's multifaceted public relations campaign against unfair lending practices in tandem with consumer state and national-level events, including the release of independent film documentaries, the rise of social media programs, the 2008 presidential election, the 2009 Credit Card Accountability Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act and the 2010 passage of the Dodd-Frank Bill, which created the federal Consumer Protection Bureau.

The Administrative Files Series (2004-2010) consists of two boxes of correspondence (print and email), handbooks, grant applications, meeting minutes, letters of agreement, and employee notes relating to organizational growth. They are arranged in alphabetical order by subject. Some noteworthy items relating to the internal structure of the organization, including the "All About AFFIL" handbook, the search for outside funders, notes relating to conference calls with consumer movement experts, and the organization's strategic plan for the 2008 election cycle. Another key feature of this series includes AFFIL's agreements with the Ford Foundation, the public relations firm of Benesen Jansen Advertizing, the National Consumer Law Center, and Public Interest Research Group (PIRG) project agreements.

Finally, researchers of social media, such as Youtube and blogs, will also find several topics in this series of special interest, including the development of the organization's website, the tracking of web statistics, the creation of electronic contented targeting internet users, and the on-line outreach initiatives.

The Meetings Series (2005-2010) spans two boxes arranged in alphabetical order by subject and by date, containing correspondence, notes, and annotated research utilized in the planning and execution of discussions concerning different issues concerning the organization. The majority of the files in this series concern the formulation and execution of AFFIL's public interest policies.

Several folders relate to the division of administrative tasks and the formation of business policies for committee assignments, partners, contractors, consultants, the press, and the general consumer movement community, including AFFIL's general principles, field outreach strategy sessions as well as staff meetings and periodic discussions with the National Consumer Law Center. Other files contain documentation related to the organization's periodic updates to funders concerning their ongoing activities, including the Ford Foundation and the Annie Casey Foundation. Still, other files concern conversations between the organization and Magnolia Studios in trying to create a public relations campaign to promote AFFIL issues through the release of their documentary on American predatory lending business practices, Maxed Out.

Other sections of this series include files relating to conversations between employees and the Federal Reserve Board, whistle-blowers, lending victims, and members of the military. Finally, this series also collects material and advice provided in conversations with outside firms, such as Benesen Jensen, focus groups reviewing advertising campaigns, the National Council of La Raza, and web-based providers.

The Research Series encompasses two boxes of reports, newsletters, internet data, court documents, whistleblower, witness, and victim case files, government documents, and internally generated public relations campaign data.

Arranged in alphabetical order by date, these files comprise the heart of the collection, revealing the sources, data, and political focus of the Americans for Fairness in Lending. Some folders contain information generated by the United States government, including the Federal Reserve Board, National Usury Cap Legislation, S.500, 2009, and the California Reinvestment Act.

Other folders collect documents relating to different aspects of credit card and intermediary lending company operations, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, medical debt, the Navy Federal Credit Union, the case files of a whistleblower, witnesses, and victims, Ritzen v Chase court files, and a brief history of the practice of usury. Still, other folders collect lending information generated by the entertainment industry, consumer groups, and noted AFFIL associates, including the television show Boston Legal, ACORN, AARP, the Legal Aid Society, the NAACP, the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, and the Consumer Federation of American.

Several folders also contain information collected by AFFIL contractors, including focus group data, Kansas district voting patterns, marketing statistics, and targeted population demographics. Finally, this series also contains accumulated consumer lessons from different sources on a wide variety of topics, including Christmas holiday tips, lending and collection abuse guides, mortgage advise, student loans, and payday provisions.

The Publicity Series spans three boxes, collecting the artifacts, posters, and media related to the organization's public relations campaigns. Several folders collect documents generated for Maxed Out Screenings, including fliers, questionnaires, house party lists. Other files hold fact cards, business cards, fliers, press kits, and reports, which AFFIL distributed at consumer conferences.

Some of the artifacts collected in this series also include promotional folders, hats, and visors. The strength of this series, however, remains the collection of DVD, CD, microcassette, VHS recordings of AFFIL videos and advocate interviews on several news magazine programs, including Nightline, Fox Business, and 60 Minutes. Finally, a number of small and large posters depicting lending and mortgage horror stories featured as part of AFFIL's on-going campaigns have been retained for preservation in this series. P. Alumni Association Records spanning from 1863 to 2012, containing: Correspondences, Class Letters, Awards, Degrees, Certificates, Memorabilia, Promotional Material, Pictorial and Physical Media Material, Photos, Scrapbooks, Newsletters, Paintings, Journals, Event and Athletics records, Reunion documents, Alumni Medallions, and other miscellaneous material pertaining to the Alumni Association.

This 1925 charter is for the Alpha Upsilon chapter of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity at Kansas State University.

The collection is an amalgamation of Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska ephemera derived from multiple sources, dating 1940-2000. Maps, promotional brochures, and travel guides feature prominently.
Most materials pertain to the state of Kansas. Topics include plants, regions, municipalities, sites, programming, and transportation routes. Researchers interested in the state's highway and water resources, the tourist industry, and public services may find the collection especially beneficial. Highlights include a state-issued map illustrated by F. Richard, "Travel Kansas: Kansas, the Friendly State Welcomes You" (1940) and a Corps of Engineers - Kansas City District brochure pertaining to the construction of the Harlan County (Nebraska) Dam (May 1947).

The George R. Peters Papers collection is composed of his personal correspondence from 1966-1976. Some correspondence and documents are related the business of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social work. The majority of the collection, however, concerns professional activities, organizations, publications, and Dr. Peters' colleagues. Dr. Peters was a professor of gerontology and sociology within the Department of Sociology and also served as the director of the Center of Aging at K-State from 1977-1992. Within each folder there are logs that lists the incoming and outgoing letters in chronological order with each entry providing the sender, recipient, and subject.
