"Summary of Unpublished Notes in the Department of Entomology" Roger C. Smith
Contains paper files, cassette tapes, and another audiotape. The files primarily contain materials to assist consumer education, as well as information about Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), which was new technology at the time, with many articles describing the positives and negatives of them. The tapes include recordings of consumer conferences on consumer unions, consumer advocacy, and how businesses can keep the consumer in mind when making choices, as well as a talk on "What It Takes to Make Consumer Legislation."
Contains primarily news articles and pamphlets regarding consumers in the United States. The topics range from consumer psychology and the personalities of consumers to Churaman's advocacy materials for the metric system in the U.S. A portion relates specifically to consumer advocacy, and a significant part of these articles contain information about consumer rights advocate Ralph Nader. There are also several booklets relating to consumer education, and some folders contain copies of legislation made for consumer protections and for the creation of consumer unions.
Contains volumes 1-6 of "Caveat Emptor," one volume of "Consumer Advocate," and several folders containing consumer education material, such as buying guides and education manuals for teachers in K-12 teaching positions. Within these folders is also material discussing consumer and professional licensing.
Contains the "Consumer Science in Institutions of Higher Education: Proceedings of a National Invitational Symposium," volumes 1-3 on "Consumer Attitude Towards Electronic Banking," the thesis statement of Patricia R. Powers titled "Focused Energy: A Study of Public Interest Advocates," "Improving the Quality of Justice in the Marketplace: The Need for Better Consumer Remedies" by Mary Gardiner Jones and Barry B. Boyer, and "The Role of the Consumer Affairs Official in Business: A Case Study of Esther Peterson at Giant Food, Inc." Contains "Forum" magazine for Spring/Summer of 1975 discussing consumers in the changing economy at the time.

The Kansas Iota chapter of Phi Kappa Theta was founded in 1921 and continues to be a presence at the university. These records contain meeting minutes from 1921 to 1996, attendance records, operating statements, and general fraternity history and activity. This collection also contains petitions from other university chapters asking to be inducted into the national fraternity. Box 1 contains meeting minutes from 1921-199. Box 2 contains the general records for the organization.
