Agency for International Development; describes the poor shape the building she works in is in; the C.A.R.E. workers are on their own so it’s hard for them to make it in Liberia; “All is litigation here;” “You have to pay houseboys 2 weeks in advance when you fire them. Most of them are in debt to you twice that much which they admit but can’t see how that effects their advance. It is funny and sad.”

Letter to Brother A flu bug has been going around and everyone’s been a bit ill; told a story about a woman who had suddenly got violently ill during a trip up country but had company in the car that was able to drive her to a hospital, “At the hosp. they said it was an allergy from insect bites and in an hour she would have been gone had they not been able to give her an injection.”
